When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode. This allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.

Jeep created Eselec for the 4xe, allowing drivers to set the vehicle to hybrid, electric, or gas power. E-save mode is unique as it disables the electric motors, using only the power from the gas motor to allow the battery to charge and save the electric power for a later time. To give the driver the ability to monitor usage and efficiency, Hybrid Pages are displayed on the Uconnect touchscreen.
